IPL 2024, CSK vs LSG: MS Dhoni makes hilarious gesture after camera pans towards him

MS Dhoni made a funny gesture that grabbed the attention of fans during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match between CSK and LSG on Tuesday, April 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In the 17th over of the Chennai innings, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube had got their eyes in and were seeing the ball like a football.

Gaikwad was batting on 93 and was nearing a brilliant hundred. That’s when the cameras panned towards Dhoni, who did not seem to enjoy it a lot. He picked up a water bottle and gestured throwing it towards the camera. The crowd went ballistic when Dhoni appeared on the screen and the decibel levels went up immensely.

Gaikwad, Dube shine for CSK

Dhoni faced only 1 ball in the innings and managed to hit Marcus Stoinis for a four through the square leg region. The 42-year-old tried to take the aerial route, but did not get the desired timing. However, he collected a four as the Super Kings finished with 210 for 4 in 20 overs.

Nevertheless, it was Gaikwad and Dube who both stole the show. Gaikwad became the first CSK skipper to hit a hundred in the history of the IPL. He stayed not out on 108 runs off 60 balls with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes. Dube, on the other hand, used the long handle to good effect and scored 66 runs off 27 balls with 3 fours and 7 sixes.

Dube and Gaikwad put on a huge partnership of 104 runs for the fourth wicket off 7.5 overs. Ajinkya Rahane, Daryl Mitchell, who replaced Rachin Ravindra, and Ravindra Jadeja, failed to make an impact. Matt Henry, Mohsin Khan and Yash Thakur accounted for one wicket apiece for the Super Giants.
